New 2nd generation upper torso ultrasound training model for central line placement with a transparent tissue insert. The model allows users to develop and practice the skills necessary to achieve competence in ultrasound-guided central catheter insertion into the internal jugular vein (IJ), subclavian vein, and axillary vein – while the vascular and arterial vessels, as well as bone structures, are visible to the eye. Developed with the goal of helping clinicians bridge the learning gap by allowing them to see the internal anatomical structures both with their eyes and via ultrasound imaging. Ultrasound skills trained include: using ultrasound system controls, transducer positioning and movement, recognizing arterial and venous anatomy, ultrasound guidance for target vessel access, and performing central venous catheterization.

The self-healing tissue allows you to repeatedly perform ultrasound-guided central line placement procedures without worrying about wear and tear or cost per cannulation. This ultrasound training mannequin is constructed with Blue Phantom's patented ultra-durable tissue and is extremely realistic in ultrasound characteristics, feeling like real human tissue.
Realism makes your training better
Each model offers anatomically correct vascular anatomy of the right upper thorax and neck, including the internal jugular vein, brachiocephalic vein, subclavian vein, axillary vein, carotid artery, subclavian artery, and axillary artery, as well as anatomical landmarks including the clavicle, the two heads of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, and the sternal notch. Users can employ traditional anatomical landmarks for blind insertion or use ultrasound to image anatomical structures. A simulated superior vena cava allows for full threading of guidewires, dilators, and central line catheters. Fluids are easily refilled via quick-fill ports.
Arterial pulsations help users distinguish between arteries and veins. Three arterial pulse configurations: no pump, hand pump, and integrated automated pump. Access points include IJ, subclavian, infraclavicular, and supraclavicular approaches, as well as axillary vessel access.
