Rescue doll Mountain Rescue
The Mountain Rescue manikin was originally developed in conjunction with Scottish Mountain Rescue. Our standard training manikins were too heavy to carry up a mountain to set up an avalanche rescue training scenario, so we were asked if we could create something that would suit this scenario.
We are happy to say that this has been achieved and that the Mountain Rescue doll is the result.
The training manikin is made from the same flame-retardant polyester used in police vests, which typically has 4 times the strength and abrasion resistance of PVC (the materials previously used) and is filled with foam to provide the bulk and firmness of a body while being easy to maneuver. The training manikin also comes complete with a backpack that allows the manikin to be folded in half while making it easy to transport.
We have now integrated RECCO® reflectors into the Mountain Rescue manikin, making it the only avalanche training manikin in the world to use this rescue system. The RECCO® reflector allows professional rescuers to search for and locate an avalanche victim. It is a supplement to a transceiver, and RECCO® detectors are used by rescue teams in over 800 ski resorts worldwide. For more information, see www.recco.com.
