The 3B Scientific Patient Care Manikin Pro for healthcare simulation was developed for scenario-based training of patient care and advanced nursing skills.

The patient care product simulates a 1:1 size adult with interchangeable genitals. It can be positioned like a real patient with natural movement of arms, legs and joints. You can even have the doll sit upright in bed for treatments. It is made of durable and water-resistant plastic for long life in daily use of training.

The following clinical nursing and patient care skills and competencies can be trained and evaluated:

Patient and personal care:
- Transfer skills: lifting, carrying and moving a patient
- Bedside care of a patient
- Repositioning and adjusting a patient
- Bathing a patient (grooming)
- Hair care (washing, combing, drying)
- Care and cleaning of eyes, ears and nose
- Personal hygiene and denture care (partial removable denture)
- Bandage (includes amputation stumps)
- Wound treatment and care (surgical suture, lacing and abrasion)
- Communication skills, especially step-by-step explanation of care measures

Medical treatment:
- Prevention of bedsores (Decubitus)
- Pressure ulcer evaluation (steps 2-4)
- Care of pressure ulcers
- Prevention of muscle cramps
- Prevention of pneumonia
- Prevention of blood clots (thrombosis)
- Prevention of healthcare-associated infection (HAI) using medical asepsis and clean techniques measurements
- Inhalation therapy
- Inhalation of oxygen
- Use of ventilation bag (mouth to mouth and mouth to nose)
- Artificial respiration, oxygen therapy
- Tracheostomy care
- Diabetic Foot Syndrome (DFS) Care
- Ostomy care (colostomy)

- Intramuscular injections (buttocks)
- Subcutaneous injections (upper arms and thighs)

The PRO version includes removable organs for these additional training patient features:

Medical simulation training in healthcare:
Training with the 3B Scientific Patient Care Manikin Pro meets OBRA requirements for Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Programs (NATCEP).

Supplied with:
Organs (lungs, heart, stomach, bladder and intestinal section), injection pads (upper arm, thigh and buttocks), intestinal tube, catheter, duodenal probe, talcum powder, vaseline, lubricant, amputation stumps, inserts with wound images (upper arm and thigh) and tools for assembly.

The 3B Scientific Patient Care Manikin is also available in a Basic version, which comes without the above-mentioned PRO features.

Please note that the replacement parts for the updated 3B Scientific Patient Care Manikin Pro also fit the older versions with the part number P10 / 1000502 (3B Scientific® Patient Care Manikin, I) or P11 / 1000503 (3B Scientific ® Patient Care Manikin, II). An assembly tool with replacement parts is supplied.
