BluePhantom presents the world’s first musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound training model for knee joint injection. Constructed using our innovative LifeCast™ modeling technique, the external landmarks are cast from a human knee, while the internal anatomy is based on digital human files. These ultra-durable ultrasound simulators incorporate all the anatomy required to teach, learn, and practice skills related to MSK joint injection and aspiration of the knee—and are designed for both ultrasound-guided and blind insertion methods. With SimulexUS™ technology, we can accurately replicate the tendons and ligaments of the knee for a truly lifelike training environment. As SimulexUS™ tissue is self-healing, the need for replacement parts is significantly reduced.

Superior Anatomical Realism

The BluePhantom MSK Knee Ultrasound Trainer includes all essential anatomy for accurate teaching and training of ultrasound-guided joint injections and aspirations. The musculoskeletal anatomy of the knee consists of the quadriceps tendon, distal femur bone, proximal tibia/fibula, and patella. The patellar bursa, femoral fat pad, quadriceps fat pad, and percutaneous fatty tissue are also included to give the user immediate feedback on needle direction. The patellar bursa and suprapatellar space can be adjusted with BluePhantom refill fluid to simulate different knee pathologies. The knee is pre-set at 15 degrees of flexion with an additional 10 degrees of flexion possible.
