BluePhantom lumbar puncture and lumbar epidural replacement tissue is designed for use with our spinal epidural and lumbar puncture training models (P/N BPLP2101). The replacement tissue insert offers the quality and durability you expect from BluePhantom. The extremely realistic anatomy allows clinicians to access the epidural or subarachnoid space using both blind insertion and ultrasound-guided techniques. This ultrasound-compatible replacement part is excellent for both needle access and catheter placement.

The lumbar puncture and lumbar epidural replacement tissue module is outstanding in its realism and includes comprehensive anatomical structures: skin tissue, lumbar spine, dura, epidural space, ligamentum flavum, subarachnoid membrane, subarachnoid cistern, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). With BluePhantom's patented tissue technology, users experience extremely realistic tissue response – including the characteristic "pop" upon passage of the ligamentum flavum, loss of resistance upon entering the epidural space, and CSF flow upon correct access to the spinal cistern. Full procedural training is possible: injection of local anesthetic, access to the epidural/subarachnoid space, catheter insertion, anesthetic infusion, and manometry measurements. CSF pressure can be easily adjusted to simulate pathological scenarios.
