This advanced C-section simulation model provides an unparalleled level of realism to medical training, bringing an immersive experience to both trainees and instructors. Designed for optimal versatility, it can be worn by SPs or mounted on a variety of manikins.

Anatomical Accuracy

The model is constructed from durable, high-quality silicone featuring an anatomically accurate abdominal cavity that includes key structures like the intestines, aorta, inferior vena cava, and bladder. The cavity can accommodate a full-term baby manikin (Baby Aiden), a placenta, and a shortened umbilical cord, all contained within a flexible silicone uterus. The model is covered by a realistic pregnant abdomen skin with authentic stretch marks and vulva.

Baby Aiden

Baby Aiden represents a 38-40 week full-term infant, fitting comfortably inside the uterus. The infant manikin can simulate ventilation via a bag-valve mask, allowing for visible chest rise.

Specifications

Preparation

• Attach Baby Aiden to the placenta with the umbilical cord
• Fill the baby's abdominal reservoir with 10 cc of blood and dish soap if umbilical cannulation is required
• Lubricate the baby with a hair conditioner or personal water-based lubricant, then insert into the uterus
• Place the placenta inside the uterus
• Optional: add amniotic fluid with a latex-free condom filled with warm water and blood
• Close the uterus and place it inside the model base, then cover with the pregnant abdomen

Simulation Recommendations

• Carefully perform a simulated C-section following standard procedures
• The baby and placenta can be removed, and the umbilical cord separated. The umbilical cord wraps around the stump on the baby
• The uterus and abdomen skin can be sutured with a round needle only

Additional Scenarios

• Umbilical cord prolapse scenario: Cut out the vaginal opening in the vulva. Lubricate the umbilical cord and place the placenta inside the abdomen close to the vaginal opening, and let the umbilical cord slip through the opening.
• PPH scenario: Guide the extra hose through the uterine opening if bleeding occurs during the C-section. If hemorrhage occurs during a vaginal birth situation, guide the hose close to the vaginal opening. Connect the other side to a syringe filled with blood or another blood pump system.
• Bloodlines for IVC and Aorta: Included, allowing for further training with a pregnant patient. To use the lines, attach longer bloodlines and blood pumps. You can form a loop by connecting the 2 lines with the included connecting hose.

Care & Repair

• Both the uterus and abdomen skin can be repaired after use. Follow the included instructions for cleaning, mixing silicone components, and curing.

Warnings and Recommendations

• Do not submerge the baby in full water – the baby’s lungs will fill with water
• Use a round needle for suturing where possible
• Only glucose-free blood mixed with dish soap is recommended

Warranty

MEDICFX guarantees that all products supplied uphold high-quality standards and will adequately serve the purpose/s as specified in their descriptions. In the unlikely event a product is faulty or damaged on arrival, the customer must notify MEDICFX within one week, including a photo of the damage as evidence. If it is determined the fault or damage was due to manufacturing, MEDICFX undertakes to either repair, replace or refund the faulty product according to the customer’s preference.

MEDICFX provides a six-month warranty specifically for the silicone parts of your model. Under normal, gentle use, tears or rips should not occur. Please note that the hair work on our models is not covered by this warranty.
