Ambu Intubation Trainer
The left side of the head is open, allowing monitoring of the student's performance. The walls of the pharynx and trachea are transparent, allowing the student to follow the tube down the throat. Acoustic signals for excessive pressure against the teeth help the student correct mistakes. If desired, the sensitivity can be adjusted. The difficulty of intubation can be adjusted, so that different patient types can be simulated.
The Ambu Intubation Trainer is designed to train all modern airway techniques. This allows training in the placement of intubation tubes through the mouth/nose (Orotracheal, Endotracheal, Nasotracheal and Nasopharyngeal), ventilation masks, Combitube™ and Guedel airway devices.
The Ambu Intubation Trainer is easy to clean and maintain. All parts can be accessed without the use of tools.
The Ambu Intubation Trainer provides an accurate simulation of the mouth, nose, teeth, tongue, pharynx, larynx, epiglottis, vocal cords, trachea, esophagus and lungs. Realistic lifting and turning of the head provides the right sensation. It has realistic movement of the head, cervical vertebrae and jaw simulating relevant anatomical changes during intubation.
The Ambu Intubation Trainer also includes an electronic tooth sensor that indicates when too much force is being used against the upper teeth.
It is recommended to use the following sizes when training with the Intubation Trainer:
- Endotracheal tube 8 mm
- Nasotracheal tube 7 mm
- Ventilation mask, size 3 and 4
