The PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training manikin was designed in collaboration with a leading hospital specialising in physical intervention training with the aim of reducing the escalation of violence in mental health settings. It has quickly proven to be a popular choice and is equally valuable to those managing potentially violent individuals, such as prisons, the police and even special schools.
Since COVID-19 hit, many trainers are looking for ways to minimize in-person contact and testing has found that 90% of different team techniques can now be trained physically, but with social distancing. This has allowed the hospital that helped develop the training manikin to successfully complete return to work assessments and refresher training much faster than previous training methods.
Functions & distribution:
- This training manikin has a different arm/hand design than any of our other manikins. It comes complete with gloved hands that articulate at the correct pressure points.
- A wide range of different physical intervention techniques can be performed both in a sitting or lying position.
- Trials in training show that using the dummy greatly minimizes person-to-person contact, allowing teams to quickly complete important assessments in a post-covid era.
- At 30 kg, the doll has enough weight to provide a realistic challenge, and the anatomically correct weight distribution helps add realism.
- A strong ribbon loop on the back makes the doll easy to handle, pull up high, store and hang to dry.
- Based on our standard tasks, the doll is tough enough to withstand being partially buried under concrete or steel casings, run over by a 4x4 vehicle, or dropped from a 2nd floor window without damage.
- Soft body parts eliminate the risk of pinching and bruising; common injuries when using plastic training dummies.
- An immobilization/extrusion collar can be fitted around the neck of our adult dolls to promote proper accident care if necessary.
- Using the optional shoutbox function, you can personalize a recorded message of up to 60 seconds, which can be repeated periodically.
- Comes complete with boots and overalls that can be easily replaced if damaged.
