Blue Phantom Brachial plexus block and ultrasound-guided CVC insertion with replacement tissue insertion

The Blue Phantom replacement tissue insert for regional anesthesia and central line is intended for use with our regional anesthesia and central line ultrasound training model (BPHNB670 series). This nerve block ultrasound tissue insert is compatible with both the hand pump (item number BPHNB670-HP) and the automatic pump (item number BPHNB670-AP). With the brachial plexus including interscalene, infraclavicular, and supraclavicular nerves, this ultrasound model is excellent for teaching and learning skills in ultrasound-guided regional nerve blocks. Users can image, target, and inject simulated anesthetic repeatedly as fluids are automatically expelled.

Developed with our new LifeCast™ modeling approach, the external landmarks are cast from a live human, while the internal anatomy is based on digital human files – the result is the most realistic combination model for regional anesthesia and central line training. The ultra-durable replacement tissue is constructed with Blue Phantom's patented SimulexUS™ tissue technology. The tissue matches the acoustic properties of human tissue and is designed for repeated use – no computer or software is required.

This nerve block ultrasound simulator provides clinicians with access via multiple points, including internal jugular (IJ), subclavian, infraclavicular, and supraclavicular brachial plexus approaches, as well as access via the axillary vein. The replacement tissue includes enhanced anatomy for nerve blocks including supraclavicular, interscalene, and infraclavicular nerves with enhanced access for the posterior interscalene nerve block approach. The vascular anatomy includes the internal jugular vein (IJ), brachiocephalic vein, subclavian vein, axillary vein, carotid artery, subclavian artery, and axillary artery. The superior vena cava, right atrium, and right ventricle allow users to thread guidewires and catheters through.

Users can visualize arterial pulsation via ultrasound for positive identification of the target vessel. Positive fluid flow in the vessels provides clinicians with immediate feedback upon successful access. Veins can be compressed with light pressure, while arteries remain uncompressed. Fluids can be easily refilled via the included QuickFill™ ports.
