BluePhantom Ultrasound Training Model for Abscess Drainage

As a new addition to our Select Series product line, we are proud to introduce our new abscess drainage model. Manufactured with our proprietary self-healing Simulex™ tissue, the model is an excellent training tool to help clinicians develop, practice, and maintain the skills necessary to perform ultrasound-guided abscess drainage. This ultra-durable ultrasound training model helps clinicians acquire and interpret sonographic images of abscess fluid pockets under varying conditions – both directly under the tissue and behind the ribs. The abscess pockets vary in size from 1.5 cm to 5 cm. Three abscess pockets are connected via a QuickFill™ tube, allowing for quick and efficient refilling.

This product is excellent for both new users and more experienced users who wish to refine their procedural skills. Ultrasound skills trained include: using ultrasound system settings, transducer positioning and movement, recognizing abscess anatomy, and ultrasound guidance to the correct abscess for drainage.

Practice on Realistic Models that Self-Heal and Do Not Dehydrate, Degrade, or Deteriorate Over Time

The self-healing SimulexUS™ tissue allows clinicians repeated use – the tissue does not dehydrate, degrade, or deteriorate over time, which eliminates the high costs of disposable parts. It is recommended to use 18–21 gauge sharp, unbent needles to maximize self-healing and longevity.

A Lightweight, Economical Ultrasound Training Model

The model contains two ribs and three abscess pockets in sizes 1.5 cm, 3 cm, and 5 cm. As with all our ultrasound training models, this phantom works well with all ultrasound systems with appropriate transducer (recommended: high-frequency linear array ultrasound probe 5.0–12 MHz).
