Baby SIMira stands for Simulation Infant with Intubatable and Replaceable Airways. A hyper-realistic, full-term neonatal training manikin designed specifically for advanced airway management and life support skills training.

Unlike birthing simulators, SIMira is not designed for live obstetrical or birthing scenarios. She is a hypotonic, fully flexible neonate model developed to support post-birth, high-fidelity training for neonatal resuscitation and advanced life support practices.

Clinical Application

SIMira has been developed for technical and procedural skills training, including:

• Airway Management - oral and nasal intubation
• Bag-valve-mask (BVM) ventilation - chest rise with assisted ventilation
• T-piece resuscitator - positive pressure delivery with realistic chest response
• Umbilical vein catheterisation (UVC) - anatomically single vein that can be positioned cephalad for easy identification
• Umbilical artery catheterisation (UAC) - two identifiable arteries for anatomical realism
• Intraosseous (IO) access - with replaceable tibial bone inserts (x12 included)
• Peripheral intravenous (IV) cannulation - left dorsal metacarpal vein with functional vein pathway
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - compressible chest for basic resuscitation scenarios

Note: SIMira does not include pneumothorax or needle decompression capabilities.
