Swimming season is approaching – Ruth Lee is gearing up with a new lifebuoy
New advanced training manikin for water rescue and lifesaving
Ruth Lee presents a new advanced water rescue and lifesaving training manikin. Children under the age of 4 are statistically at the highest risk of drowning. Can't we agree that even one death is one too many.
Enabling rescuers to train in the most realistic ways is key to reducing drowning deaths. The Advanced Water Rescue Toddler replicates hydrostatic clamping, meaning water does not enter the pulmonary system. You can choose to add water, allowing you to simulate both floating and submerged drowning scenarios and teach emergency situations such as pulmonary edema.
It is essential that clinical care training takes place in an environment where it will take place in real life. Unlike anything else available to rescue teams, this toddler manikin will allow you to simulate difficult rescue scenarios for a drowning child. Once out of the water, continue with essential medical care and allow rescuers and medical trainees to learn to handle this situation in a more realistic way.
Advanced Water Rescue Toddler
The toddler doll's sturdy Ruth Lee outer body helps with buoyancy in all waters and will float in a drowning position to provide ultra-realistic rescue situations. Foam pads also let you adjust buoyancy for underwater rescues (although we recommend using the tether point in open water to make sure you don't lose it!).
The torso of the doll is an ultra-realistic male form, with all the anatomical features you would expect from a medical simulation doll for toddlers and airway management.
This manikin is a revolutionary product for those working in water rescues, where continuing care and acquiring medical skills are as important as rescue training. It is therefore suitable for a range of teams that may be faced with the challenges of resuscitating a drowning child, including the coastguard, lifeguards, military, refugee rescue teams, fire and rescue services, professional maritime companies (including cruise ships) and other teams within the water rescue industry.
Like the Adult Advanced Water Rescue manikin, the corresponding Toddler manikin is a collaboration between Ruth Lee and the medical simulation experts at Lifecast Body Simulation.
