The superficial pressure injury shown may manifest itself through the development of blisters and skin abrasions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e Decubitus category 3 (buttocks - left)\u003cbr\u003e In the lower left part of the buttocks, category 3 of decubitus can be seen: recognized by the loss of all layers of skin with damage to the subcutaneous tissue through necrosis. This can be recognized by the black color of the wound area.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e Pressure ulcer category 4 (trochanter\/femur - left, sacrum)\u003cbr\u003e A severe category 4 pressure ulcer is presented on the left femur (trochanter major) and on the sacrum (os sacrum): all layers of skin and muscle fascia have been destroyed. Necrotic areas are marked in black. The muscles and bones beneath this layer are also affected. This injury may become necrotic.
