BluePhantom Breast Phantom for Ultrasound Elastography

Blue Phantom's elastography ultrasound breast training model allows users to develop and practice the skills necessary to achieve competency in elastographic ultrasound imaging and ultrasound-guided surgical procedures. The model contains a wide variety of elastic masses, allowing users to gain experience with rigid, soft, and isoelastic lesions – all within the same model. The masses have echogenic structures that are hypoechoic, isoechoic, and echogenic (hyperechoic). The ultra-durable models require no special storage and do not dehydrate or degrade over time.

This elastography ultrasound training phantom is constructed with Blue Phantom's patented ultra-durable tissue and is extremely realistic in ultrasound characteristics and feels like real human tissue. The model contains 12 masses with varying B-mode ultrasound and viscoelastic properties (lesions with varying Young's Modulus levels). The masses range in size from 6mm to 11mm and appear as hyperechoic, hypoechoic, and anechoic – with varying hardness relative to surrounding tissue. Ultrasound skills practiced include: using ultrasound system controls, obtaining elastographic ultrasound images, proper transducer pressure, transducer positioning and movement, recognition of soft tissue masses and breast lesions, and ultrasound guidance for fine needle biopsy.
